7 Simple Hacks To Streamline Your Morning Routine

Most mornings I have trouble getting out of bed. If you're like me, you need those few more minutes of extra zzz’s. Or on occasion, if you have woken up to a shocking discovery that, in fact, your clock is not playing a cruel joke on you and it is actually: “you’re gonna be late” o’clock. You can use these helpful tricks to get your fabulous late butt out the door!

#1 – Choose a couple full outfits for your closet at the beginning of the week so that if by chance you are running late you can throw them on and look good. There has been times when the classic “I have nothing to wear” thought pops into my head while staring blankly at an overwhelming amount of clothing in my closet. So this trick will have you #ootd prepared.

#2 – Have the coffee maker or kettle ready to go. Each night I put out my travel mug, set up my coffee maker with grinds and water. This way it’s the simple touch of a button and I can move on to another part of my morning routine. This way you will still get your morning coffee or tea for that quick caffeine jolt you need.

#3 – Have dry shampoo on hand. This is my morning holy grail! Spray this liquid gold in your hair, brush it through and you are sexy bed head chic. If you’re headed to the office, just through it up in a sleek ponytail for a sexy polished look. And no one will be the wiser.

#4 – Pick your makeup for the day. A great product to use is a BB cream. It's an all-in-one product that includes face lotion, SPF, concealer, and foundation. BB Cream still brings out your natural complexion as well so blush is not always needed. If this is not enough coverage for you, I use a bit of powder while it is still moist to set the BB cream. This sets my makeup and creates a long lasting effect.

#5 – Paper bag it! Gathering all the items you want in your lunch takes time. Chopping and peeling can set you back, so to cut this time out, make your lunch the night before so it’s a quick grab and go! No fuss, no mess! I like to meal prep for several days at the beginning of the week.

#6 – Keep your alarm clock away. Many of us keep our alarm clock right beside us. This makes it pretty easy to hit snooze way more then we should and intern starting our day late. This girl is the worst offender... So keep that clock away which makes you get up and out of bed to turn it off. Just the simple standing up can get you going for your day.

#7- Don’t check your phone until you get out of the house. I am guilty of this from time to time. I roll over and check my phone to see what’s up for the day. That’s all fine and dandy but when you start texting friends and answering emails, or finishing that level of candy crush it can get you lost in your phone. Which only results in your social butt being late for the day. So check your phone but do all the answering at the office and this will streamline your morning.
