Pastels In The Park
Posted on September 23 2017
I didn’t think the first day of fall would make me want to grab a bikini and hit the beach but I’m all for these gorgeous day filled with sunshine!
So hold off your pumpkin lattes and shawls just yet, summer is hanging on for one last round.
I can’t help but be girly, I love pastel colours, flowers and anything that is a twist on the basic. This life is too short to dress like everyone else and not express your own style.
I love this look because it’s unique but not too ‘out there’. The colour palette is bright and inviting.
Wearing this pastel blue dress shirt with rolled up sleeves for a casual vibe. I’m wearing this top tucked in because the shirt is actually quite long and I wanted a clean-cut look.
The jeans are the ‘Spring Fling Embroidered Jeans’ from Girls Just Know. They have a stretch, comfy fit with frayed bottoms. The sides of the jeans feature a deep red embroidered selection of flowers that allow these jeans to go from spring to fall.
My shoes are from Steve Madden and super comfortable. They have a slightly chunky heel and feature a twisted felt toe strap. Get them here.
This hat is actually from Cuba, I bought it in Havana. My sister and I jumped in on a group trip to the city from our hotel in Varadero. There is a story here but I will tell you another time. Here is a link to a similar hat.
My hair is normally pretty straight but today called for some beachy curls. I feel playful when I curl my hair, especially when it’s not perfectly done. I used a wand to get this look and followed it with natural makeup. Though, I was wearing A LOT of makeup.
I had just finished filming with a special partner, which I will tell you about once it is launched. I still pinch myself that myself and Girls Just Know will be featured as part of a National Campaign.
But for anyone who has been on camera, whether it’s Youtube or a full film, it doesn’t always capture the amount of makeup you have on. So you load it up! This is my ‘Natural Look’...but I used a zillion products to get it! Ha!
I’m here is Trinity Bellwoods Park in Toronto, Ontario. If you are from Toronto and haven’t paid it a visit, I highly recommend it. I feel like it’s the New York of Toronto, it’s not about the park itself but the people in the park.
Trinity starts with beautiful white gates and cobblestone which leads you into a selection of paths. There’s a dog park where owners let their dogs off leash, tennis courts, a baseball field, and hockey ring. I think that’s pretty standard.
But on weekends, groups of friends set up picnics on blankets, hundreds of people gather to spend the day relaxing and celebrating with one another. Everything from drum circles to 1st birthdays, to the most fashionable girls drinking champagne on designer blankets, to friends practicing tightrope walking between two trees they found.
It’s a place where you can be yourself and no one cares. Most importantly, no one judges.
What piece of clothing can you not live without?
